Life as A Servant tells a story about the fantastic experience of a poor young man Bin. He have been an orphan growing up in a local orphange and has a young sister. Although there is no blood relationship between them, they get along well with each other and is even closer than those blood related. At least, they could have lived a peaceful life. However, Just as the saying goes, a storm may arise from a clear sky. One day, the orphanage suddenly is to be demolished and changed into a bar due to lack of fund. Then, Bin and his young sister were kicked out unluckily. The two homeless tasted everything hard and bitter. Bin struggles for their life desperately and often overloaded with work. What's worse, Bin suffered from a teminal illness and his condition is deteriorating day by day. In oder to let his little sister live better when he died, he worked more hard. But he make a large mistake in his work, smudging a rich girl's coastly dress when he serve the dishes. The girl, Jasmine was so angry to let him pay her for a new one. Of course, Bin has no way to afford it but to work as her servent.
Imagination and the reflection on life is a sign in novels, which is obvious in this novel. Taking a city famous for a magic acaddemy as the background, it's must admitted that the author of this novel has rich imagination. While, the description about the gap between the poor and the rich from the infrastructure and lifestyle and other elements embodies that the author's acute observation and deep thinking of our reality. Although it's plots in a novel, who can not think of the cruel reality where we are living in after reading it? The visual impact brought by the comparison between Magnificent Skycrapers and shabby shacks often let us feel magic of the world. The novel reveals the reality boldly with a fantastic style, which is worth reading.
